About Me
Hello!
I’m Michelle, a children’s book illustrator and author who works in both traditional and digital media. I have three daughters and live in the Midwestern USA. I’ve worked in the creative field for over 20 years with most of my adult life working in custom stained glass windows.
Along with being a constant doodler since I was a child, a lot of my training has come from hand-drawing client work to submit for window construction. Those years of simplifying lines to meet the unique boundaries of window design has unexpectedly prepared me for children’s book illustration, to which I continue to find joy and excitement in the process of bringing a new idea to life.
Some of my favorite subjects to illustrate are: outdoor scenes, foliage, children, animals in unexpected settings.
